How Are Castings Produced?

Aluminum alloy castings can be produced using various methods, but due to process efficiency, high dimensional precision, and cost-effectiveness at high volumes, modern industry prefers aluminum injection casting—also known as high-pressure die casting (HPDC).

HPDC (High Pressure Die Casting) is an advanced metallurgical process carried out under the constant supervision of modern control and measurement equipment. During the process, molten aluminum is injected under extremely high pressure (up to 2000 bar) into a steel mold called a die, where it solidifies and takes its final shape. High-pressure aluminum casting allows for the production of durable components with highly complex geometries and exceptional dimensional accuracy. The resulting castings also feature excellent surface smoothness, often eliminating the need for further finishing. Additionally, HPDC is highly efficient in material usage, minimizing waste and significantly reducing production costs in mass manufacturing.

High-pressure aluminum casting is a widely used industrial production method, enabling the rapid manufacturing of large numbers of identical components. The HPDC process is used to produce engine blocks, aircraft structural components, electronic device housings and heat sinks, and household appliance parts.
